Abstract

Nowadays, in order to achieve manufacturing excellence and to ensure customer satisfaction in a competitive marketplace, companies are increasingly looking for simple techniques to bring them vital gains in terms of time and money. A powerful tool to minimize average production time and to save costs is the Kanban system, which not only reduces stock levels but also ensures the efficiency of the workplace. In this investigation, there is a case study of a small company in the wood industry where the Kanban system was implemented. This case shows how such a simple tool has motivated a team to create a system of continuous improvement.
