The problem faced of Sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus var. Sangkuriang) cultivator at the rearing stage is the low efficiency of feed utilization because vegetable protein sources as feed constituents lack the amino acid lysine so that the lysine content in the feed is still low.The amino acid deficiency causes a decrease in the efficiency of feed utilization and growth. The purpose of this study was to examine the addition of lysine to artificial feed on the efficiency of feed utilization, growth and survival of Sangkuriang catfish. The test fish used in this study were Sangkuriang catfish with an average weight of 22.36±0.24 g/head. The test feed used in this study was an artificial feed in the form of pellets with a protein content of 31% added with lysine, namely treatments A (0%/kg feed), B (1%/kg feed), C (2/kg feed) and D (3%/kg feed). Parameters observed included feed utilization efficiency (EPP), feed conversion ratio (FCR), protein efficiency ratio (PER), relative growth rate (RGR), survival rate (SR) and water quality. The results showed that the addition of lysine to the feed could increase EPP, FCR, PER, and RGR. Water quality parameters during the study according to the literature are still feasible for the cultivation of Sangkuriang catfish. The lysine dose of 3%/kg feed was the best dose of the addition of lysine to feed resulted in the highest EPP, FCR, PER, and RGR values of 78.36±0.32%; 1.43±0.17; 2.64±0.12 and 3.26±0.125/day.
