Abstract

Abstract. Protobatioladinium elatmaensis sp. nov. is a distinctive Lower–Middle Bathonian dinoflagellate cyst present, often abundantly, throughout the Russian Platform. The species appears to be a reliable stratigraphical marker and is the oldest representative of the genus.
