Abstract

Introduction. Regular assessment of the level of knowledge of students, the process of mastering educational information is one of the important factors that ensure the interconnectedness and harmony of education and upbringing. Formative assessment can be used as an effective tool in the successful implementation of this process. In this article, the experience of developed countries in the formative assessment of school students' knowledge, the results of scientific research of scientists in the field of pedagogy were analyzed and the main conditions for the application of this practice in the context of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been identified. Methods. The analysis of the above research has shown that the student knowledge assessment system includes a number of common components. Such components include the collection and analysis of data in the educational process, a reasonable conclusion on the level of formation of skills and abilities, as well as the ability to apply these knowledge, skills and abilities in practice. Results.
