Abstract

Complications on the thoracoabdominal will affect both the thoracic and abdominal cavity. Therefore, this chapters discusses pathologies like diaphragmatic paralysis, adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction, chylothorax and many more, respectively complications and intraoperative events following treatment. We will enlighten the difficulties and effects that go together with such an event. Also rare complications are presented that require immediate action to prevent a fatal course. The thoracoabominal border concerns both thoracic and abdominal surgeons. Though, strategies vary sometimes and combine different techniques of surgery. Additionally, complications can be managed conservatively or interventionally in quite a number of cases. Mostly, difficulties arise on which concept to choose when. In the present chapter, we provide some distinguished aspects to find one’s way through this demanding exigence.
