Abstract

Official multiculturalism policy was adopted by the Canadian federal state in 1971 and was entrenched in the 1982 constitution. This policy has attracted many controversies and heated debates, not only in Canada but also in the rest of the world. Yet multiculturalism has also earned Canada a leadership role in the world’s eye in an attempt to create a nation with a higher level of inclusion.
