Oculomotor system abnormalities are commonly associated with disorders of the lids and orbits. Disturbances of extraocular muscle function are associated with both primary pathology and iatrogenic manipulation of lid and orbital tissues. Disruption of extraocular muscle function is particularly important in the pediatric population because of the vulnerability of associated compromises to visual acuity such as amblyopia and binocular coordination including fusion and stereopsis. This chapter focuses on the etiology and management of those disorders.
