Abstract

Analyses the geographical stability in the pattern of electoral support for 37 political parties in 7 EEC countries since c1950. The nature of each party's electoral appeal is the major determinant of the geographical stability of its support, parties with a strong class base depend very much on 'socialization in place' and have high levels of stability.-Authors
