Abstract

I have spent the past decade investigating the application of research synthesis methods, especially meta-analysis, to the quasi-experimental data often encountered by applied social scientists and evaluation researchers / focus of this work has been on two important public policy issues in the areas of education and health / the policy issues are the impact of school desegregation on black achievement and the assessment of medical technologies such as coronary artery bypass graft surgery / summarize the lessons I learned in conducting these meta-analyses (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
