The article gives the results of research into how the teaching of history leaves a mark on the construction of political subjectivity in one Bogotá school district, in the first three grades of primary school. The paper begins by laying out the theoretical basis and methodological aspects of the research. The results show gaps between the ways of understanding and comprehending history by teachers, and classroom practices; the findings reveal that the teaching of history continues to be directed toward shaping traditional points of references about identities, social places, forms of participation and social relations, such as where the construction of children's subjectivity has moralistic aspects, with a prevailing focus on adaptation to the social surroundings and the construction of national identity.
