Abstract

The CORBA specification is the most complete architecture for developing Object-Oriented systems. QoS-based systems are developed with CORBA using the Messaging and the Notification Services. However, some features are missing in the CORBA specification in order to make it capable of guaranteeing end-to-end QoS (quality of service). Some of these features are proposed in several projects. The objective of this paper is to review and analyze the most important proposed approaches to provide QoS guarantees with CORBA architecture. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
