Abstract

The quality perceptual voice in VOIP networks is of great importance as IP networks are not designed for real-time applications, disturbances such as packet loss, jitter and delay influence negatively on the quality. E-model for VOIP networks is a well known approach has been developed for evaluating the quality of perceptual voice. In this model, the result is expressed in term of MOS ranged from 1 to 5. Having modified the traditional E-model, we present a unified computational model, applicable for both narrowband and wideband codecs. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
