Abstract

Two-dimensional parameter diagrams are used to examine time-varying trends in annually averaged global surface and continental temperatures for the period 1850-2009. Every possible trend (longer than two years) and its associated linear temperature change are calculated for the available record. © 2010 American Meteorological Society.
