Abstract

This article proposes a Collaboration Observation Model (COM) to allow a systematic observation of aspects involved in collaboration, in order to facilitate coordination of observation activities in the group as well as to improve collaboration, interaction and communication among participants. Effective collaboration is a key factor of success in teamwork activities to achieve shared goals, because it can improve the quality of interactions and reduce tasks execution time. To evaluate the proposed model, a real experiment was conducted to verify its adequacy to collaborative aspects and to refine the model. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.
