Abstract

Two new prostrate Solanum species (S. serpens and S. acanthodapis) are described from subtropical notophyll rain forest near the Queensland-New South Wales border in eastern Australia. Both are stoloniferous, with long trailing stems that frequently root at the nodes. In Solanum subg. Leptostemonum, this growth habit is thought to be confined to these species and one other taxon.
