Abstract

Sedimentation involves precipitates, coagulates and phytoplankton. Rates depend on differences of density, size and shape of the matter, the viscosity of water, and the turbulent velocity of water flow. Jorgensen considers models of sedimentation in detail and the estimation of parameters. The problem is difficult, but relatively simple approaches are possible. -D.J.Davis
