Abstract

An account of the side-effects of 30 patients treated with lithium at Athens University Department of Psychiatry during the last two years is presented. The most frequent side-effects were: tremor of hands, polydipsia, polyuria, increase in appetite, dryness of mouth, general muscular weakness and memory reduction. Most side-effects were infrequent, mild and in no case necessitated discontinuation of treatment.
