Abstract

Abstract - Rent is a form of revenue obtained by public\rhousing management that is used towards the management and\rmaintenance of public housing. Without rent collection, there is\rno revenue. It is therefore critical that research on rent arrears\rbe undertaken to understand the extent of the problem. This\rpaper studies the relationship between tenant satisfaction and\rrent arrears prevalent amongst MBI public housing tenants.\rData for the study was obtained through questionnaire\rdistribution on 659 MBI public housing tenants using the strata\rsampling technique. The study found that tenant satisfaction is\rrelated to the rent arrears problem. Although the payment of\rrent is commonly focused on the ability to pay rent apparent\ramongst tenants, the fact remains that tenant satisfaction must\ralso be considered by the public housing management in order\rto increase the payment of rent by tenants.\rIndex Terms— Rent Arrears, Public Housing, Tenant\rSatisfaction, Logistic Regression Analysis
