Abstract

With the development of computer technology, large eddy simulation has already been an important approach in study of two-phase turbulent flows in recent years. Large Eddy Simulation (LES) method is used to calculate turbulence flow by filtering, it's main idea is that large eddy structure (also known as coherent structures) is greatly influenced by the flow field and small vortices can be considered to be isotropic, so large eddy and small vortices can be calculated separately, and small vortices can be calculated by unified model. The LES is used to simulate field flow of hydrocyclone in this paper. The detailed features of field flow of hydrocyclone, and separation efficiency can be obtained. This research is helpful in the studying of liquid-liquid hydrocyclone.
