Many employment opportunities for biomedical engineers involve the management of healthcare technologies. New engineering graduates and employed engineers typically lack training in business, management, and regulatory issues, and may be unfamiliar with the economic and regulatory environments of healthcare delivery. The Healthcare Technologies Management Program at Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin was designed to meet the unique educational needs of biomedical engineers working in clinical, industrial, and consulting environments.
