Abstract

The author chronicles a steep decline in the autumn-winter herd of Whooper Swans frequenting what had long been a favourite loch in northeast Scotland. He suggests that re-afforestation around the loch shores may have made it an unsuitable habitat. © 1973 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
