Abstract

We are developing an upper-limb movement mechanism which is driven by push and pull forces in order to realize human-friendly orthoses. In this paper, we propose a new device which can move the upper limbs without a rotatory center, and describe its feasibility. From the results, it was found that our method can move the upper limbs to some extent. © 2009 Springer-Verlag.
