Abstract

This case discusses the pharmacokinetic interaction between metoprolol and diphenhydramine. Metoprolol is a cytochrome P450 2D6 substrate. Diphenhydramine is a 2D6 inhibitor. Coadministration results in metoprolol toxicity.
