Abstract

The article discusses the evolution of telehealth in the U.S. as of August 2013. Topics covered include how Medicaid offers more flexibility than Medicare, the lack of uniformity in how Medicaid covers telehealth services, and how the reimbursement landscape is changing as more states embrace telehealth. Also mentioned is the need for patients to completely understand the telehealth process and its limitations as well as associated risks.
