Abstract

Human Beings as Chance Seekers The concept of cognitive niche is useful to frame morality and violence in a naturalistic perspective. The first sections of this chapter aim at deepening our understanding of this concept, taking advantage of an evolutionary framework that is ideally linked to the considerations I have provided in chapter one, focused on the role of coalition enforcement in illustrating violence as a natural (animal and human) behavior.
