Abstract

Foreign direct investment brings with it technology and managerial expertise. It has always played a key role in the traditional export industries. At a time when Caribbean countries are pushing the frontier of nontraditional exports, foreign direct investment has become even more crucial as evidenced by its share in the GDP of several countries in table 8.1.
