Abstract

Negative stigmatization of the behavior of the Samin community which is very strange has its own history. The attitude of the Samin community to disobey taxes, identify with ignorance, reject new cultures, do not want formal schooling, do not want to obey the Dutch colonial government are things that need to be further investigated and scientific. This study uses a descriptive-analytical approach to describe the history of past problems in the Samin community critically. While the hermeneutic method. The Hermeneutics Method uses the theory of Wilhelm Dilthey's thought with the aim of uncovering the past events of the Samin community in 1890-1919. The results of this study say that, in studying the history of the Samin community it is necessary to understand (verstehen) the problems of his past. The negative stigma of the Samin community cannot be separated from the past history of colonialism by forcing forced labor and paying taxes. Intrinsically, people pretend to be stupid so that they are not used by the colonial people, so they want to pay taxes, want to join cooperation with the Dutch. Behind, the truth is that the Samin community has positive behavior, that is, the attitude of Drengkei Srei, solid exchange, dahpen, just culled jumping, mbhedog colong means attitude do not be jealous, do not like to fight, do not take what is not hers and do not steal. That negative stigma needs to be rectified from the past historical process of the Samin community which turns out they also have good attitudes and behavioral actions.
