Abstract

Green tea contains a variety of bioactive agents with many health benefits such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. It has been reported to impart role in oral health by prevention from dental erosion, dental caries, alveolar bone resorption, oral malodor, etc. The health benefits of green tea are mostly related to the flavonoids which are the major components of the polyphenols existing in green tea. This paper reviewed the major oral health benefits of green tea extracts. Keywords:
