This work presents the design and the specific absorption rate analysis of a 2.4 GHz wearable patch antenna, realized by using fabrics for the substrate and the conductive parts. This antenna can be used to monitor physiological parameters such as glucose concentration in diabetes patients, thus the real risk of its use for humans should be carefully evaluated. For this reason, simulation tests are performed to evaluate the SAR levels, by adopting a realistic stratified phantom including dry skin, wet skin, fat, blood and muscle. Some preliminary numerical results are discussed to prove the sensor efficiency.
