A review is presented of the analyses of the structure of the Boltzmann equation and its solutions for energy and space dependent problems of an eigenvalue nature. The topics discussed are: role of eigenvalues; various forms of Boltzmann equation; isotropic scattering; pseudomodes and true shadowed modes; and anisotropic scattering.
