Abstract

The change of learning methods from online to online during the Covid-19 pandemic caused new problems in the implementation of supervision. Pandemic conditions require every school to increase the quality of online learning system to achieve educational goals. The implementation of supervision is one of the benchmarks for improving the quality of learning. Therefore, academic supervision is considered very necessary to know how learning process carried out by teachers. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of academic supervision by the Head of Madrasah during the Covid-19 learning period. This research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods carried out from October 2021 to January 2022. The results showed that the are three steps in implementation of academic supervision amely planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Planning for academic supervision during a pandemic consists of formulating goals, implementation schedules, and scope, and determining academic supervision techniques during a pandemic. Meanwhile, the implementation stage begins with the examination of online learning tools and observations of teacher performance using academic supervision instruments during the pandemic. The results of the evaluation show that supervision continues even though online learning is not optimal in several aspects. The follow-up step of is carried out by guiding teachers, especially in the preparation of learning tools, encouraging teachers to participate in virtual workshops and various other self-development activities.
