Abstract

The productivity enhancing benefit of technological innovation, including that of automation, is recognized by practitioners and academicians alike. Several authors have suggested a link between organizational performance and innovativeness. Yet, particularly in logistics operations, where experts believe that there are abundant potential for productivity enhancements, there is a surprising lack of empirical research addressing the role of organizational influences in the adoption of new automation technologies.
