Abstract

Examines the capabilities and present activities of Costain, W.A. Dawson, John Laing, John Mowlem, Whitley Moran and Taylor Woodrow. Costain is currently engaged on jetty construction for Cleanaway at Rainham, oil jetty construction in Greece and offshore coal loading facility construction in Queensland. W.A. Dawson are working on Longman Quay, Inverness, and have a contract for a new linkspan and shore works at Portsmouth. John Laing recently completed a marine outfall for Gosport and tanker jetty for Littlebrook Power Station. Current projects include the waste transfer station on the Thames. John Mowlem are involved in work at Aberdeen, Devonport and work for the PLA. Whitley Moran have developed the use of resins and polymers in concrete repair.
