Abstract

Defibrillation is the only known method of treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, especially during full cardiac arrest. The success of defibrillation is dependent on many factors which influence defibrillation. These factors include the impedance of the patient’s chest, elapsed time from cardiac arrest until start of applying the defibrillation’s discharges, the type of defibrillation pulse, which is defined by the shape, amplitude, initial phase and also the pulse length and ratio of phases. It is not currently possible to try apply defibrillation pulses with different parameters so that we get feedback about success of the applied defibrillation pulses. This issue of applying defibrillation pulses, a brief description and user’s feedback has been processed in the program created in LabVIEW environment which is described in this article.
