Abstract

In the proposed paper the author presents some Czech experience of the methodology of teaching the French as a second foreign language in view of teaching/learning English as a first foreign language. This approach opens new perspectives for the integrated didactics of foreign languages which aims to the plurilingualism of young generation. First, the author makes a reference to the results of surveys in which teachers as well as learners revealed their ideas about the impact of previous experience of teaching/learning English on the subsequent teaching/learning French. Then, she shows the most frequent interference errors produced by Czech learners of French. In the end, the author informs about future teachers of French who study at the University of West Bohemia. The objective of this third section is to point out the linguistic comparison of French and English and the reflection of positive and negative impact on second foreign language teaching/learning.
