Most industries in the world have undergone a transformation since the 1990s. This new world order, driven by digital, software, automation, and mobile technologies has changed how the world works. However, the education sector generally lags behind in keeping up with these transformations. While the annual global spending on education is enormous, at more than six trillion dollars, little is invested concerning digital transformation. One of the main reasons for the low level of digitalization in education is the lack of private sector activities and initiatives. Funzi is a company from Finland that has developed a service providing access to quality learning to anyone who holds a mobile device. Founded by mobile industry veterans, it aims to create a service that is proven to produce good learning outcomes, among all learner types, regardless of content.
