Abstract

Research in medical physics has led to a huge number of innovations over the past 30 years. Medical physics is of course a broad scientific field, but in general can be categorized as either diagnostic imaging physics or the physics of radiation oncology. In this paper, these two areas will be discussed separately. © 2009 Springer-Verlag.
