Abstract

Reconstruction of large soft tissue defects caused by tumors or trauma remains a surgical challenge. Flap prefabrication of customized tissue components has been one of the recent advances in reconstructive surgery [1, 2], and the technique has fulfilled the need for flaps with multiple surfaces or functional properties, such as long-term stability. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
