Abstract

Parallel architectures are often used for implementing Video Server in Video on Demand systems. In this paper, we propose an architectural model well suited for SMP parallel computers able to reduce the communication overhead related to video-stream data transfer from storage servers to the video clients. Experimental results obtained on a Quadrics CS-3 parallel computers are presented and discussed.
