Abstract

Upper airway stimulation is a novel approach to the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Using neurostimulation to actively dilate the pharynx during sleep, this modality is a departure from the ablative and repositioning surgeries offered in the past. This chapter outlines the evaluation, procedure, and outcomes of this new innovative therapy.
