Abstract

Internet development has changed the whole aspect of our lives and it is not too much to say that we are currently living in a cyber community represented by Internet. In this kind of environment, interactions with the others and various services are established and a character in the cyber community substitutes a person. In expressing oneself with defined personality, emotion plays an essential role. Nowadays, avatar and emoticons function as primary sources for expressing feelings but more mutual level of expressing interactive emotions among cyber subjects are not examined in depth. This paper proposes emotional system which actualizes more detailed schemes to express emotions based on both psychological theory of emotion and ontological representation of their relationship. The system is constructed to express individual's emotion by realizing contextual information and applying OCC Model. It is expected to express oneself precisely, exploit a market for characters and enable human services. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2009.
