Abstract

The article offers the author's insights on the "Red Queen Hypothesis" principle which he believes underlies the spectrum of idea on Poa annua grass as a weed, and offer some guidance in battling or recruiting the grass. Topics discussed include author's use of an analogy of an evolutionary arms race between the grass and golf course superintendents, the use of herbicides to control the grass, and establishment of high quality greens-type grass.
