Abstract

Outlines three studies of hazard information environments carried out at the Battelle Center. Presents models on individuals' adaptations to a hazardous environment and how the information system operates (linking professionals with lay people). Case studies of the 1979 US gas crisis, Mt. St. Helens and the mass media are presented. -R.Land
