Effect of propranolol on acute withdrawal tremor in alcoholic patients

Abstract

The effect of the β adrenergic blocking agent propranolol was tested on positional tremor occurring during acute alcohol withdrawal using a double blind crossover method and electrical recording of tremor amplitude and frequency. The difference between the effects of propranolol and placebo was not significant.
