Abstract

Foreign competition and price declines have delayed economic recovery in Idaho's mining sector. Despite these conditions, higher silver prices enabled the value of nonfuel mineral production to rise. The search for precious metals again dominated exploration activity in 1983. The review mentions specific company and USGS activities.
