Abstract

Building ontologies in Semantic Web from the Entity—Relationship model (ER model) is one of the approaches which attracts interests from the content theory research community. In this paper, we propose a method to transform specifications in TimeER model into OWL ontology by transforming the entities and relationships in a TimeER model to an OWL 2 ontology. Our transformation approach is based on the improvement of the transformation methods from ER model to OWL ontology, and adding the transforming rules for the temporal components of the TimeER model.
