This chapter Theoretical Underpinning, Methodology, Research Questions describes the context of the academic background of the monograph. It presents a literature review primarily focused on the qualitative methodologies employed in Chaps. 4 and 5. It first sets the scene for the ontological and epistemological paradigms that underpin the research and then focuses on two main methodological approaches: grounded theory and narrative inquiry.
