Abstract

Deploying the grid services with complicated dependency and status is a big challenge in service provisioning. A new model, named as Dependency Steelyard, is proposed in this paper. By measuring and calculating a set of metrics for dependency, the steelyard can generate the critical path of deployment action (including deploy, undeploy, and redeploy) on demand automatically for any service distributed in specific virtual organization. A practical use case, deployment of ChinaGrid Support Platform, will be demonstrated. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
