Altıncı Sınıf Tam Sayılar Konusunda Uygulanan Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitiminin Öğrencilerin Matematik Motivasyonlarına Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, altıncı sınıf öğrencilerine tam sayılar konusunun öğretiminde uygulanan gerçekçi matematik eğitiminin öğrencilerin matematik motivasyonlarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma Kahramanmaraş iline bağlı Dulkadiroğlu ilçesindeki bir ortaokulun altıncı sınıfında öğrenim gören 27'si deney grubu, 28'i kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 55 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubuna tam sayılar konusunda gerçekçi matematik eğitimine göre hazırlanmış matematik öğretim programı, kontrol grubuna ise Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan matematik öğretim programındaki tam sayılar konusuyla ilgili etkinlikler 15 ders saati uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak "Matematik Motivasyon Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre gerçekçi matematik eğitimi, deney grubu öğrencilerinin matematik motivasyonlarını grup içinde etkilememiştir. Bununla birlikte gerçekçi matematik eğitimi, tam sayılar konusunda deney grubundaki öğrencilerin matematik motivasyonu sontest puanları üzerinde kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin matematik motivasyonu sontest puanlarına kıyasla daha etkili olmuştur.The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of teaching integers subject with realistic mathematics education on secondary school sixth grade students’ motivations in mathematics. The research was carried out in one of the secondary schools of Dulkadiroğlu district of Kahramanmaraş province with total of 55 students, 27 of them consituted the experimental group and 28 of them composed the control group. In the experimental group, a mathematics curriculum including integers subject based on the realistic mathematics education was applied and the activities of mathematics curriculum related to integers subject proposed by the Ministry of National Education were applied in the control group for 15 hours. The research was based on the semi-experimental model with pretest-posttest control group design. “Mathematics Motivation Scale” was used as data collection tool in the research. As a result of the research, realistic mathematics education wasn’t effective on students’ motivations in mathematics within the experimental group. However, according to pre-test scores, realistic mathematics education was more effective in integers subject on the experimental group students’ motivations in mathematics compared to the motivations of the students in the control group.
