This chapter details essential steps of epineurial repair to prevent long-term neuromuscular dysfunction secondary to neural injury. Dissection exposes proximal and distal stumps of the nerve; devitalized tissues are debrided. Under microscope, the nerve stumps are excised until fascicular mushrooming is clear, and then suturing through the epineurium is performed to aid neural coaptation. Soft tissue is reapproximated for complete coverage of the nerve. Indications, essential steps, postoperative care, possible complications, operative dictation, and references are included.
